Can i make a mbr on D then? Or will i just have to keep the small
harddisk?
Colin Barnhorst said:
That's because you removed the disk with the master boot record on it.
That
is the record that had the information on how to find not only Win98 on
C:
but also WinXP on D: Your D: drive does not have a master boot record.
There can only be one on a system.

Hi,
First, you may want to explain what boot error you are getting when
attempting to boot the computer. Take a look at these articles from
Microsoft, they may be helpful with your issue:

I have updated to XP from an old Win98 I had on a small hardisk -
the C
drive. I installed XP on another (bigger) harddisk - the D drive.
Now i
want
to change the small harddisk to a bigger one. But the computer wont
let
me...i just get a boot error when i turn on the computer. Even
though
i
havent removed the harddisk with XP on. Is there anything I can do,
to
make
the computer boot from the XP-drive, without having to start all
over?
