New Hard Drive

1. I have within the past few days installed XP Pro on an IDE HD with a new
mb. I have NOT activated XP yet. I now think I'd really like to get a sata hd
and install XP on it instead and use my IDE hd as a "D" drive for backup.
Will I encounter any special problems with XP installation/activation if I:
a. Install a sata hd on the computer
b. then install XP on that sata hd?

2. Must I or should I somehow delete/remove XP from the ide hd?

3. Do you have any recommendations on partitioning the sata hd with respect
to the efficiency of XP operation? 2 partitions? relative size?

Thanks

1. As far as product activation goes, what you do before you activate XP
is irrelevant.

2. You don't have to remove the XP installation from your PATA drive,
since your license covers one computer. But unless you want to run two
separate copies of XP, you may as well format the PATA drive.

3. Disk partitioning is a matter of opinion, and there are many of them.
I suggest you read about it on the web.
