New hard drive

Jon

I have just installed a new hard drive to act as a
slave. I have windows XP Pro, both drives are Western,
both use cable select so the jumper settings are correct,
and the computer does, in fact, recognize the new hard
drive (in device manager). Unfortunately, it has NOT
assigned a letter to it so I can't use it. I am about to
give up...HELP....

Thanks,
Jon

Right-click on MY COMPUTER and select MANAGE.
Click on DISK MANAGEMENT and in the lower right-hand
window, right-click on your second drive and select INITIALIZE DISK.
