Hi,
I am having a new hard drive put in and I have searched
for a phone number in order to re-activate my
windows. Can anyone help me?

Unless Windows has requested reactivation - you won't have
to do it. If it has so requested, you have 30 days in which
to comply... and all you should have to do is follow the
prompts. It's not going to be a big deal, if any at all.

If all you've changed is the hard drive, you probably wont
need to call them. If you do, the machine'll let you know
and provide you with a phone number and something like a
50 digit key. Copy that number and give it to the MS
person and they will give you a 42 digit key back. Like
I said though, you probably won't need to do anything.

You probably won't need to reactivate. If you do, just do it as
usual. If it doesn't activate over the internet, you'll be given
an 800 number to call then.

Changing a hard drive only needs an activation if you do a complete new
format and reinstall (or if you have already made so many changes that
you have pushed things OTT by removing the old one). After a
format/install you then do it by getting on the net, some time in the
first 30 days, and run
Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Activate Windows
to activate on the Internet. If you really *want* to do it by phone,
the option for it is there and will tell you the correct toll free
number to call.

I would deal with the matter by using third party software to 'clone'
the current drive to the new one, but you may prefer the clean install
for other reasons
