New Folder

Brand new XP Pro installation (today), got all updates. When I try to
download a file, create a new folder on my Desktop, no folder is created.
However, I can right-click in the blank space and select New - Folder and it
is created. This behavior is only when I try to create a new folder on my
Desktop by pushing the NEW FOLDER BUTTON. All other file locations will work
normally...

Ideas?

I take it that your NEW FOLDER BUTTON is a hot key on your keyboard?
If this is so then you need to associate an action with your hotkey.
Control panel>Keyboard, look around in the properties of yout keyboard.
Or perhaps it is creating a "new folder" but it is being created somewhere
else other than your desktop?

After my first post I found a fix for it at Kelly's site.
