new email notification sound problems

I can't get Outlook 2003 to provide sound notification of incoming email. I
have checked all setting including setting in control panel and everything is
OK. Microsoft teck says I need to uninstall and reinstall Office but that
doesn't amke much sense to me. Anybody else had this problem?

You might need to download and install Office Sounds addon from the Office
web site. http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/default.aspx

If you have rules moving incoming messages to folders other than the inbox,
you will need to add a sound notification to the rule to have a sound play
when that mail is received.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

Also make sure you have selected 'Provide feedback with Sound' in Outlook,
Tools, Options, Other, Advanced Options.
