new email notifcations

I am using outlook 2003 with my hotmail account and i cant seem to get the
cool fading new email notifcations to work, they are on and when i minimise
outlook to the system tray they dont work (i'm not even sure if it's sending
and receiveing on its own, even though it should do it every minute).
in the options for it it says it will only work with the 'defualt inbox'
would my homtail be the defulat inbox, if not how do i change it?

Notification will not work on Hotmail accounts.
