New Email address- how do I not lose all my info currently in Out

Valerie

I am going to be using a new email address with my Outlook. I need to keep
all the email, calendar, tasks, etc associated with my old address. How do I
switch to a new email address and not lose all the old stuff? I'm afraid to
add the new address, because if I lost all the old stuff I'd be dead. How do
I switch over and keep the old stuff? Thanks!!!

I assume you meant you are using a new email account. No reason you can't
keep the same data file. What made you think you couldn't? Tell us the rest
of your story.

Someone told me that I would need to create a backup up of my data, then reload it when I switch to the new address as the data associated with the original email address would be gone. Is that not true? I hope not.... didn't want to take the chance just in case without checking. Thanks!

And yes - I forgot to answer that question - it would be a new email account.

Thanks!

There is no *need* to take a backup, but it is always recommended to
take regular backups of your Personal Folders file(s). You write that
you'd be "dead" if you lost your stuff, so make backups!

Once you created your new account, just reconnect to your current PST file.
