New E-mail but No E-mail

I set up an address that was to be listed as Junk E-mail.
I then set up the Rules Wizard to Automatically delete any
E-mails that came in that were listed under the Junk E-
mail heading.

However, I have noticed that I still get an envelope
symbol in the bottom right hand corner of the COMPUTER
screen (where the time is), even when there is no new E-
mail in my inbox. IS there a simple reason why this is
happening?
 
Yes. Outlook has to download email into the Inbox in order to process the
rules, so in outlook's eyes there IS new mail.
 
Is there a way to stop this happening?
