New domains/workgroups showing up in My Network Places

A customer is on a W2k domain. Normally, when a user goes into My Network
Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network, there are three
domains/workgroups there. Today, users notice that there are now 11 being
displayed. Is there any way to figure out where these domains/workgroups are
coming from?

They are from outside computers or laptops being brought in and hooked up to
your network - specifically, each one represents a workgroup or domain that
another computer or laptop is normally connected to or can see. If you
allow outside computers to be connected to your network there is no cause
for worry - the foreign workgroups will vanish in a little while. If you
don't allow outside computers to be brought in then you need to track down
and stop them from being brought in and your other problem will go away.
