New Document

Every time I click on new document or go into File, New, Blank Document, it
comes up the last document that was typed. My daughter typed something for
school and now every time I try to get a new document her work comes up. Did
she change the default blank document to her document???

I have tried all that I can think of and I can't get a blank document. Now
now I click on new document, have to delete her work, change the font back to
my font and then type and save. I do a lot of working for work here at home
so this will be very time consuming....HELP!!!

Hi Care,

Your daughter has most probably change the "Normal.dot" file. This file is
most probalby located on your C drive. You can make a search for the file (>
start > search > All files and folders > search for "Normal.dot". If you have
found the document do not double click the document. Click with the right
mouse button on the file and select 'Open' from the context menu.

Now you should see the same text as your daughter has typed in and on top of
the frame should be the name "Normal.dot - Microsft Word". As a next step you
sould select the whole text (Edit - Select All) and delete the whole text.
Afterwards, you can save the document.

The next time you open up a new document you should receive a clear page.

Kind regards,

Simon
