New Contacts in Outlook Problem

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 Office 2003

I have created a new set of contacts and called it "Contacts2" in
Outlook 2003. I wish to use these new set of contacts and send fax's
from them, the problem is that the address book in Microsoft Fax does
not show this second set of contacts? Any ideas?

Did you enable the folder as an email address book in its properties?

Thanks for that Russ it works fine now.

We now have another problem? When the address book is used to send
multiple fax's for some reason when one fax has been sent it starts to
send the next fax without a pause and causes it to fail, we get an
error message unable to dial this contact? Outlook then dials the next
fax in the list no problem, then the next one fails?

Also it would be nice to see in the sent fax's sent box the name of
the company not the name of the contact. Looking at the sent fax's we
just see for example John, David, john, Steve ect, even though we file
the contacts to show the company names?

Thanks again,

JB

How are you entering the fax addresses and in what format are their numbers
when you see them in the To: field?

The appearance of the faxes in the Sent Items folder is not configurable.

I am entering the contact name in the Full Name field and the company
name in the Company field, I then set the "File As" to show only the
company name. When you excess the Address book it shows the name as
it should "the contact name" but it also shows the "display name" as
this and not what I set the file as?

This then makes it difficult to recognize what fax's have been sent.
Would the only work around for this be to enter the company name in
the name field and not the contact name?

Any ideas why every other fax fails?

I really can't answer your question without the information I requested.
You also need to clarify your question.
First you said only the second fax in the list failed. Now you say every
other fax fails.

I have no problem with the way the Fax numbers are entered as they are
entered in the correct format and are sent correctly and also use the
setup dialing rules. My problem is with the way that address book
displays the name of the companies contact and not the company details
as I would like.

If you read my first reply I said that the first fax is sent ok then
the next one fails then the next one is ok and so on.

I am obviously not making myself clear.
I cannot possibly troubleshoot the fax transmission problems you are having
without knowing the precise steps you are using to enter the list of fax
numbers into the To: field and how they appear in that field before you
click Send. Is each address clearly demarcated by a semi-colon, for example?
If you are entering them from the Outlook Address Book, then it is also
necessary to know the precise format of the fax number in the Contact Record
and whether any dialing rules are used.
