Is there a way in MS Mail on Vist to subscribe to a different
community/newsgroup OTHER THAN microsoft? I've tried posting directly to
another and it can resolve the name.

Get the information on its newsgroup server and click on Tools/Accounts/Add
and it will be ready to add another newsgroup server, and most of the
servers
you can add will have other newsgroups on them. You might check your
internet provider's web pages to see if they have a newsgroup server and
how to set up to use it.
