New Canon I860: My experience

B

Bob Gibson

A couple of months ago I decided I wanted a photo printer to go along
with my old workhorse, and still working perfectly, HP 722c. After
reading the posts from this NG I bought the I860.

Documentation is great, installation flawless, and photo printing
exceeded all expectations, even printing letter size 2.2MP digital pics
using Canon Photo Paper Pro.

My thanks to all for their recommendations. All suggestions for Inks,
Paper and Cartridges will be gratefully received, saved, and
investigated.

Thanks again.

For general text printing, and inexpensive coated paper will work
nicely, such as multi-purpose copy paper.

Photo printing requires good paper, and I recommend Office Depot Premium
Gloss 8.5x11 which produces excellent results. I haven't used it, but
I've heard that Red River Polar Gloss also gives excellent results.

For ink, I suggest refilling the ink tank cartridges. These ink tanks
are among the easiest to refill. I recommend AtlanticInkjet/Re-Inks for
refills and bulk ink. Stay away from universal refill kits, and I don't
recommend third-party cartridges, unless they are EMPTY tanks.
