New Auto-Update Behaviour?

Okay, I'm a systems geek. I figure this is a valid question..

My primary PC is my laptop, running XP PRO, Patched all up to date.
Just like 2-3 days ago it started not only asking me if I wanted to
patch it now, but if I wanted to reboot now or later. Every 15 mins or
so (it seems) it re-asks if I want to reboot now or later..

First time, I shrugged. Because I've seen *NO* industry commentary
about this, nor have I seen any of this on any of my clients PCs (yet),
I'm starting to get a little freaked.

What is this? Is this a new feature? If so, where's the press releases,
etc..?!

Christ, I'm half way through an SUS/GPO deployment at a customer and am
about to commit to an 80 hour contract to deal with this stuff.

No documentation? What the hell is going on?!
