I have two machines connected (say A and B). Each has a username (say ZZ)

ZZ has no password on either

When I do "View workgroup member" from A (logged in as ZZ) I see B OK.

But when I do it (logged in as ZZ) from B (which is the internet
connection) I get a dialog box asking for a password. The username part is
grayed out and the name it shows is not ZZ (it's Guest).

Any idea what is wrong?

For successful networking, 1) each computer must have a user with a
password; 2) create identical users and passwords on each machine; 3)
the Guest account on a computer is not a regular account where you're
just being hospitable. It is highly restricted account and is usually
disabled for security purposes. Here are some links to help you
