I have 2 computers networked together by ethernet cable. I can't see one of
my computers in my network, although I can share internet. I checked my error
log and I found the following error

"The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on IP address 169.254.246.92, since
the IP address is outside the 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 scope from which
addresses are being allocated to DHCP clients. To enable the DHCP allocator
on this IP address, please change the scope to include the IP address, or
change the IP address to fall within the scope"

Where do I change the scope, and does this affect networking?

This address is obviously APIPA which means that XP didnt get valid IP
address from DHCP
If you have ICS enabled then go to that network properties and check it
if you donyt have Intenet COnnection Sharing then put manualy IP addresses
from the same scope
