Trish

I have posted a few things on here about networking but I
am still having problems. Everything is set up on both
machines, both xp, both are receiving through the share
folders, even sending files to print from the laptop to
the host but I am unable to connect to the internet/email
through the laptop. I have turned off the firewall on
both machines but still no luck. I have gone through
eveything. I have even formatted the main machine to
make sure that I had no bugs on the main computer. I
have entered the new network with my ISP and that is all
correct so I am conmpletely at a loss of where to go
next. There has to be someone out there who can help me,
PLEASE!!!!

Need more info:

how are you connecting to the internet?

dial..cable..dsl ?

trought a router.

do you get an Ip address.
IS DNS working

did you try ICS - internet connection sharing. Go
to "Help" and read about how to set it up. Most of the
time you need to share the service not the LAN connection
to share the ineternet. So, if you have DSL with a modem -
you would share the DSL connection, not the LAN
connection. The idea goes for a dial-up conection. With a
static IP address you would share the LAN conection the
DSL is connected to since there is no modem.
