I have been trying to set up a network between my laptop
(XP Prof OS, wireless) and my desktop (XP Home OS, NIC).
I am using the Motorola SBG1000 Wireless Cable Modem
Gateway. I have run the Network Setup Wizard and
everything seems OK on the laptop, but I don't seem to
have access from the desktop, can't see computers in the
workgroup?

I have changed workgroup name from the MSHOME default,
but when I try to run the wizard again, it sets up the
workgroup to the MSHOME default? Do I need to reinstall
the Network Setup Wizard?

Greetings Tim,

If you want all of your machines to be on the same
workgroup, you can do so by changing them manually.

1. Right-click "My Computer" and choose "Properties".
2. Click the "Computer Name" tab,
3. Then click the "Change" button.
