our office has a network of xp computers. I was given an
old laptop with Windows 95 which I would like to add to the
network. Is this going to work or do I need to upgrade the
operating system. I am not sure the laptop has enough
resources to run XP. Thanks.

All versions of Windows, including 95 and XP, can network with each
other. Make sure that all computers use the same protocol for file
and printer sharing. If that protocol is TCP/IP, make sure that they
have IP addresses in the same subnet.

By default, Windows 95 installs NetBEUI and IPX/SPX. You can
un-install them and install TCP/IP.
