Well it all depend on what you want to do. If you just want to share the DSL
connection which has 1 public IP address then a router is the only way, it
could be a pc running Linux it's still a router. If you have multiple IP's
and want to setup servers on some of the IP's and share the DSL connection
with your LAN then you will need both a switch/HUB and a router. A little
more detail is need to help you.

A router will be the best way to go, giving you additional firewall protection at the same time. Right now D-Link is my favorite for ease of setup, and they have outstanding support if do run into any problems. Check out the sales and rebates at major office/computer stores in your area to get the best deal.
