networking troubles after installing nortel contivity vpn client

I am unable to connect to the internet after I install
nortel contivity vpn client on my windows 2000
professional system (service pack 4). I'm unable to ping
any IP address or do any dns lookups.

I've installed the netdiag.exe tool and it reports the
following error when I run the winsock test:
Failed to get UDP packet size information. The error
occurred was: The requested service provider could not be
loaded or initialized.

I've uninstalled the nortel software, and also tried
reinstalling the w2k service pack, neither have which have
solved the problem. netdiag /fix doesn't fix it either.

Does anyone have any suggestions other than reinstalling
the operating system?

Hi Brian,

I run the same config with no problem at all. What ver of Contivity client
are you running? I am running 4.65.09 on Win2K SP4.
