I have two computers I am trying to network them. Both have Winxp pro. I can
ping one computer but not back the other way. I think it must be some
softwear I have but I really have no idea.
My question is how do I get the to pinging back and forth?
Thanks

What Service Pack is installed on each computer?

Please start by providing ipconfig information for each computer.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, copy and paste into your next post.

One-way pings are usually caused by a misconfigured firewall on the
un-pingable machine.

If your machines are XP Pro Original or SP1, then disable the Internet
Connection Firewall on the internal LAN connections, but leave it active on
any Internet connections.

For XP-Pro with SP2, leave the firewalls enabled but enable the File and
Print Sharing exception.

I'd recommend installing SP2 on all the machines if it's not already.

If there's a 3-rd party firewall in use, then read the instructions to find
out how to add your LAN to the Local or Trusted zone.
