I can't get out on the internet, having a host running
2000 that connects via ethernet OK, and client running
XP. I have run the wizard on XP and wonder if I can run
the wizard setup disk on the 2000 machine. Anyone know if
this is possible? Any other help (Chuck?) to sort out
this problem much appreciated.

No, there's no Network Setup Wizard that runs on 2000. I've written
some web pages that should help you get everything working.

Configure the 2000 machine as an ICS host as shown here, choosing the
appropriate page for your Internet connection:

ICS for Win2000 - Broadband WAN Connection

ICS for Win2000 - DialUp WAN Connection

Configure the XP machine as an ICS client as shown here:

XP ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard

Thanks for the help Steve.

Sadly I've done everything mentioned in your articles and
still no luck. I intend deleting ICS from the host and
try to reinstall it. How can I check what is actually
working? The PC's seem to talk OK as I'm able to file
share and printer share but nothing on the internet
connection.

Steve Winograd please see my post below.

I've tried deleting ICS and then reinstalling to no
avail. Where can I go from here? This is all very
frustrating and I could be doing much better things than
sitting before my PC begging it to work!!
