Networking security gone mad

I have a soho network of 3 pcs. One running 2000 and 2
running xp. I set up the second xp machine a few weeks
ago. It can see the other two computers and talk to them
happily. The 2000 machine sees the other two and talks to
them happily. However, the first xp machine can talk to
the 2000 machine, but gets denied access to the the
second xp machine. I get a message saying "XP2ND is not
accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this
server..........etc."

I've set up all the share as normal. What was interseting
though, was that I tried running XP1st in safe mode with
networking, logged on as administrator, and it worked
fine, talked to it without a problem. My regular logg in
is supposed to have admin previleges (so the software
tells me).

Any clues?

Do you have a firewall anywhere that is denying access to
the machine(s), but is disabled in safe mode? Turn off
all firewalls (xp's built in (should be off anyway on a
LAN)and any 3rd party ones whilst you troubleshoot. If it
works with firewalls turned off, then that is where your
problem lies. Reconfigure them to allow access.

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's no firewalls in
there that I can find.

Still having no luck
