I have a home network where I use my homePC as a host and I use my business
computer to access files on the host. For about two years I have been able
to access the C: drive on the host and print to the printer on that host
remotely. One day suddenly i could not get access to the drive or the
printer using the same computer I always had used. When I try to log on to
the host it gives me an error message that I do not have access. Does anyone
have any ideas on what could have changed?

Thanks

Why not start by looking at the complete and exact error message?

And provide some detail about your network, and what might have changed.

The message is, "hostpc is not accessible. Youo may not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find
out if you have access permissions. Ogon failure: the user has not be
granted the requested logon type at this computer."

The network is connected via a crossover cable connected to a wireless
gateway. I have internet access but cannot get access to the host computer
or printer. It literlaly worked one day and not the next.

thanks

You may have tried these options, but I'm going to throw them out
anyway; are you able to ping the other computer? What permissions are
showing on the C: drive you are trying to access, and do you still show
a match on the computer from which you are accessing?

This is pretty well known here, and is relatively simple to resolve. XP Home is
not quite so simple, but the solution is known.
