Networking problem

I am trying to network 3 PC's using a hub. I have assigned each PC an IP
address and they all on a workgroup called WORKGROUP. Using XP Pro with SP2

PC1 is able to see and access PC2 and PC3.
PC2 and PC3 is able to see each other and PC1 but cannot access anything.
Access denied errors appears every time.

I have turned off the firewall on all the PC's BUT even though its turned
off on PC1 it does not appear as off in PC1.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a URL I can look at to start this right from
the beginning? I need to get this network back up and running asap as I have
no internet connection now.

I think that your network has two different problems, and that there's
no relationship between the problems:

1. PC2 and PC3 can't access shared disks and folders on PC1.
2. You have no Internet connection.

I don't have any information about your Internet setup, so I can't
address that problem.

The "access denied" errors indicate that PC1 is receiving access
requests from PC2 and PC3 (so this isn't a firewall problem), but it
doesn't recognize the users on those computers who are requesting
access.

Run the Network Setup Wizard on PC1. That's often all that's needed
to fix the problem.

If that doesn't fix it, the solution depends on whether simple file
sharing is enabled or disabled on PC1. To see, click My Computer |
Tools | Folder Options | View, scroll to the end of the list of
advanced settings, and look at the "simple file sharing" box.

If simple file sharing is enabled (box is checked), make sure that the
Guest account is enabled for network access:

1. Right click My Computer.
2. Click Manage.
3. Click Local Users and Groups.
4. Double click Users.
5. Double click Guests.
6. Un-check "Account is disabled".

If simple file sharing is disabled (box is un-checked):

1. Create user account(s) on PC1 that match the accounts that you use
to log onto PC2 and PC3 -- same user name and password.

2. Make sure that network access is enabled:

a. Click Start | Run, type "secpol.msc" in the box, and click OK.
b. Click Local Policies.
c. Click User Rights Assignment.
d. Click "Access this computer from the network" and make sure that
the Everyone group is included.
e. Click "Deny access to this computer from the network" and make
sure that the Everyone group is NOT included.
