networking msdos with xp

I'have a server with and msdos base program, networking with 4 other
computers 3 of them in win95 and 1 with win 98. I just hook a 5th computer
with window xp, had no problem with the networking I can see all the files on
my server, but when I try to make a short cut on xp to run the program it
does'nt allow me to do so. I can run this particular program with a short cut
in all the other computer that have win95 and 98. but not on xp any
sugestions will be really appreciated. thank You
