I am having Trouble getting a Network setup at home between my 2 PC's.
They are both Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2.
I keep getting this Message when i try to access the network using My Network Places.
"Network Name" is not Accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available."
Now i have been looking info up on this for about 4 hours now and i finally give up.
So i came across this site and i found a topic exactly like mine but was with 3 PC's. https://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-250271.php I followed the instructions to the point where i have to Ping the PC's because the guy that posted had different results than i did.
The PC i am on now is named NATHAN. I went to Command Prompt and tried to ping it. My Results were "4xRequest Timed out.
Ping Statistics for (My IP addy)
Packets: Sent = 4, Recieved = 0, Lost = 0 (100% Loss),"
Well then i Pinged my IP and My Results were "4xRequest Timed out.
Ping Statistics for (My IP addy)
Packets: Sent = 4, Recieved = 0, Lost = 0 (100% Loss),"
Well then i went and Pinged the other PC named Tedvenski and got back
"Ping request could not find host Tedvenski. Please Check the name and try again."
So i Tried its IP addy and My Results were "4xRequest Timed out.
Ping Statistics for (It's IP addy)
Packets: Sent = 4, Recieved = 0, Lost = 0 (100% Loss),"

My PC isnt connecting to the other or itself lol.
So i tried to Ping NATHAN from Tedvenski.
Was the same as when i Pinged Tedvenski from NATHAN
"Ping request could not find host NATHAN. Please Check the name and try
again."
So then i tried to ping NATHAN's IP. This is what i got "4xRequest Timed out.
Ping Statistics for (It's IP addy)
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 0 (100% Loss),"
Then i tried to ping tedvenski by it's name and IP and i got
"4xReply from (Tedvenski's IP): bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128"
for both.
All i want to do is get my PC's connected so i can do File sharing. I have tried everything in the link and it still isnt working PLEASE HELP ME!!
