Networking for Rooks

i understand the baisics of computing ( i build my own
computer) but have never really done anything with a
network, but now that i have two computers networking
them to share my cable internet sounds like a great idea.
Can some one please give me some tips of websites which
are not too extensive but teach me what is needed.

I intend to share my Cable modem between Athlong 2100+ (
with winXP) and P3 550MHZ ( Win98Se)
