Okay, I've been trying to set up my network for a couple days now. I set up the cable modem, and ran it with the cat5 provided (which I'm assuming is the patch cable) into my router. From there I have 2 cables running to two computers: Mine, which is the faster of the two. Both computers are running windows XP, one is 500mhz P3, and Mine is a 1.4 Ghz P4. I don't think either computer shares the same brand of network card. My problem is this: I can connect to the internet through both computers, but I cannot share files, which I have been stressing over. I have ran the wizard several times with no result. Please help me!

Thanks,
-J

I don't mean to sound condescending, but I do need to ask you start with the simple questions. First of all, when you go through the wizard do you choose The second radio button? Then the selection "This computer connects...through...residential gateway"? From here you could probably figure out the rest. I hope this helps. If you have done this let me know, and also give me an idea of what you see in your 'My Network Places' folder now.

No need to run the wizard. Simple make sure that the firewall is turned off
and share a resource. Connect using the UNC path.
