Networking a Win XP home and Win2K Pro

I just purchased a new computer and it has XP home. My
Old computer has 2K pro. I've run the network wizard on
the home machine but I'm still not seeing the win 2k
machine on XP, nor the XP machin on 2K. HELP!!!

waht type of network do you have peer-to-peer(crossover) or are you
using a hub and cat5?

On Win 2K:

1. Configure the TCP/IP protocol to obtain an IP address
automatically.

2. Set the workgroup name to MSHOME to match XP.

3. Right click and share the desired disks and folders.

4. Go to My Network Places to see the XP machine.

On Win XP:

1. Make sure that the Internet Connection Firewall is disabled on the
LAN connection.

If you connect the computers directly to each other, without a
hub/switch/router, use a crossover Ethernet cable. A regular Ethernet
cable won't work.
