Networking a scanner

I have a scanjet hp5500c and i was wondering if I would be able to share this on my network, we are all running windows xp pro.

I would check with HP... I've done this with a SCSI Umax scanner. The
scanner driver included a scan server function that allows you to share the
device across the network...
My guess is if you can't see the scanner when you look at your workgroup you
wil need add a driver to do it.
