networking 2 windows xp machines

Hi

I have connected 2 Windows XP Pro machines using a crossover cable. I have
created 1 shared location on each computer.

There are 3 users, all set up up identically on both computers (i.e. same
password)

When I try to access a shared location over the network it prompts me for
the user name and password.

Any suggestions?

You will need to create identical accounts/passwords for all users who
are going to access resources on the machines. IOW, make an account for
all 3 of your users on both boxen.
