You already have the mechanics of a home network set up. All you need to
do is set up sharing. Run the Network Setup Wizard on all computers,
reboot, and that should do it. If you have third-party firewalls,
you'll need to turn off the Windows Firewall (assuming you have Service
Pack 2) after running the Wizard and properly configure the firewall to
allow the lan as trusted.

I'm sorry but "not working as in cant share" isn't enough information to
get you a focused answer. Do you get any error messages? If so, what is
the exact text? Do you have a third-party firewall installed or an
antivirus with something like Norton's Internet Worm Protection? If you
do, then that firewall needs to be configured and the Windows Firewall
disabled. Did you create any shares?

Here is a network troubleshooter by MVP Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time
to go through it and it will pinpoint the problem area(s).

Disable the Norton Internet Worm Protection and use the Windows
Firewall. Go to the WF applet in Control Panel and open it. On the
Exceptions tab, make sure that File & Printer Sharing is enabled.

XP Home does not permit sharing users' home directories (My Documents)
or the Program Files folder although you can share folders within those
directories. Make sure you've enabled sharing on the Shared Files
folder by right-clicking on it and choosing the Sharing & Security
option.

On the WinXP computers, create local user account(s), with non-blank
password(s), that have the desired access privileges to the desired
shares. Log on to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will be
able to access the designated shares, provided your network is
configured properly. Also, if running WinXP SP1 or later, make sure
that WinXP's built-in firewall is disabled on the internal LAN
connection. If using WinXP SP2, make sure that you've either disabled
the built-in firewall, or set the firewall to allow file and print sharing.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
easy-to-follow information in WinXP's Help & Support files, and here:
