networking 2 operating ststems

i am running win xp on one pc and win 2k on another, i am able to setup a home network on xp, but i have to create a disk to set it up on the other computer, but that is not compatible with win 2k. I cannot do it the other way round either, create a network on win 2k ... Please Help!
 
The is no need to create any disks. Just connect the computers and share a
resource.

It's never necessary to run XP's network setup disk on any other
computer. You can make all the settings manually.

The default settings on XP and 2K should work to network them with
each other. Setting the workgroup name on 2K to be the same as the
workgroup name on XP (default is MSHOME) will make browsing the
network a little easier.
