networking 2 lab tops

is it possible to network to lab tops together with an
ethernet cable with neither of the computers being
connected to the internet...i tried to use the network
wizard but it didnt seem to work i just said that the
network cable was unplugged which it was not any help??

To connect two network cards directly to each other you need a special
cross over cable. Are you sure you havre this cable?

no all i have is a ethernet cable that was used to
connect to the internet at school
