Just a quick question

im going to buy a router primarily to split the internet between my sister's laptop and this computer. The thing is, she has an iBook

will any router be compatable with both mac + pc? and will this have any affect on the 'ease of installation'? (never set up a network or anything before)

And will i lose any internet connection speed using wireless?

Oh and i have a cable modem, so do i have to buy a cable router?

The iBook should be fine with connecting to the router. You might have to go into the Network Preferences on the iBook and configure it a bit. Not too difficult.

And you should also be fine with any router you buy for both PC and Mac compatiblility.

And yes you will loose a bit of spped with it being wireless but not much to be honest.

And yes you will have to buy a cable router if you currently use cable now (i.e. Telewest, NTL etc) and adsl router will not work.

Hopw that helps a bit.

Cheers,

Rich
