Dave

The network connection on my WinXP PC has stopped
working. It was working last night and this morning
doesn't work (didn't even turn it off at night). When I
try to access the internet though IE I get nothing. Same
with my other home PCs though a Linksys router. My other
computer can see the internet without issue.

Since the problem I have tried several network cards,
cables, the repair option in the network connections
dialog, reinstalled WinXP on top of the current
instalation and even reset the TCP/IP stack with the
command:
netsh int ip reset net.log

When I run ipconfig /renew, I get an error that it cannot
see the DHCP server. I have cable modem, so everyting
should be automatic. I am almost to the point of flushing
the drive and starting from scratch.

Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Reboot the cable modem/ router I believe it supplies the IP address for your
systems.
My route will sometimes lockup over night and just rebooting the modem and
router fixes the problem.

Supertech
