Network setup

Trying to perform a netwrok setup on a virtual machine using VMWare
Workstation 5. Everything goes fine until the setup program beings and
reaches the point at which it should ask if you wish to setup windows. The
machine then produces the fatal blue screen and does nothing.
Any ideas?
Could I be right in thinking that it might be a driver error because it is
installing on a virtual machine?
