Network Setup Wizard on 98 doesn't find Wireless Card

I'm trying to link a W98 machine to another running XP
using Linksys Wireless-G cards. The Network Setup Wizard
runs ok on the XP machine but when I run it on the 98
machine it asks for a reboot and when rebooted says it
can't find the network card. However W98 thinks the card
and driver are there!

Several hours wasted so far - any ideas??
Thanks

Yes, XP's Network Setup Wizard sometimes fails to find an installed
network card. There's probably some mis-communication between the
Wizard and the network card's driver program.

Fortunately, there's no need to run the Wizard. You can make the same
settings manually that it would make. Here's what the Wizard would do
if it ran:

1. Set the computer name, computer description, and workgroup name
that you specify.
2. Install these network components if they're not already present:
a. Client for Microsoft Networks
b. TCP/IP
c. File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
3. Share any printers connected to the computer.
4. Create the "Shared Documents" folder if it doesn't exist.
5. Share the "Shared Documents" folder.
6. Configure the local area network connection to obtain an IP
address automatically.
