Network Setup Wizard Error

i pick all the right settings to do a network, but at the end it always says
"error occured during configuration of the network on this computer. you can
configure network manually, or you can run the wizard again with different
settings." i know how to set one up because i had one on my old pc then i got
new parts and installed all them, motherboard and hdd. i have windows xp pro.
my router is belkin and i have internet on host pc, but the connection to
other pc's(xbox live) are way to slow. use to never get disconnected but now
get disconnected almost everytime. suggestions?

yes i have tried manually. the pnly option it gives me for the Local Connection is a firewall
