Hi,
Some more queries.
1. Should Memory prefer programs (Optimizes as a work station, database
server, web server OR system cache (Optimizes role as a file server)?
2. Out of the following which should be checked?
a.Search Network computers for scheduled tasks, this can slow the
computer?
b.Search network for shared resources this can slow the system down?
c.Add used shares to my network places for faster access?
d.Enable admin. shares?
e.Hide computer in the net work of other computers?

Please do realize that this machine is an end user stand alone on a dial up.
Plus my knowledge about computers is pathetic & so is my English.
This is my first experience in a news group.
Regards!

PS: I do use Tune Up Utilities 2006.

Hi,
I did uncheck all 5, (a,b,c,d,e).
But the result was that I lost my dialup made the Network connections.
(Control Panel).
I do get connected to the net, machine is working smooth but cant see at
what speed am connected e.g. the 2 computers connected at the bottom right
corner have disappeared, the only thing left is the short cut to the dial up
made on the desk top?
Any clues why the dialup has become invisible & cant see those 2 computers?
Waiting to hear from you anxiously,
Regards!

Mr. st.daniel.

Just wanted to add that when I unchecked all 5, the machine was online & the
software asked for a reboot.
Before I could click on reboot, had a power failure. Later the machine
restarted & from than on am facing the above mentioned issues.
Could there have been some changes in registry made that need to be undone?
Network connections do make a new dialup but not for my ISP, as it gives a
message that “a dial up for this ISP & # already exists, but I cant see it.
Waiting to hear from you,
Regards.

All posts, threads, errors that I have posted till now have been rectified!
Thanx,
Regards!
