network problem XP to XP

I'm setting up a new PC with XP Pro on a DFI LanPArty NF4UT Ultra D. To be
able to update as I go I connected it (crossover) to my older PC (also XP
Pro), (I have been using this connection a long time for Internet access for
another computer). The MB has the ACtive ARmor built in Firewall and I'm
using the NF4 GbLAN (the same happens with the MArvell Gb LAN, both
built-in). At first I would have to go through setting up the Home or small
office network every time I restarted the PC and do a repair on the
connection. Else there was no internet and the other PC was inaccessible.
But then the connection would be up-to-speed for accessing the other PC as
well as internet. Now after installing NAV 2006, I can't even get any
connection. I turned of the "Worm detection" in NAV, The NF4 built-in
firwall - no luck. ANy suggestions would be appreciated. The connections on
both PC show that they're connected.

Michael,

Please describe your network with more detail. How is the Internet service
involved?

You're working on 2 problems at once. Your most current one is installing NAV
2006. You'll have to un install that, completely, following all instructions
from Symantec.

Next, you need to figure out why you have to repair the connection. Is this an
nVidia product? Please read this article:
