network issue with wired router and 2 XP pro PCs

MK

Hi
I have two PC's on a router. Both have access to the internet - that works.
I can successfully ping each PC from the other with the IP address. On PC A
I can see only A. On PC B I can see A&B (in Network Neighborhood). If I try
to access A on PC B I get "not accessible - network path not found". I
cannot ping with the PC name in either direction (could not find host). I
have Norton AV 2008 which has the "Network Map" Both PC's show up with
correct IP address. PC A has has built in hardware firewall (nvidia) and XP
firewall off. PC B has XP firewall on. Before getting the router, I had PC A
connected to the internet with ICS and PC B connected to A. Everything
worked fine then.
Any insights greatly apreciated.

If you can ping each by IP but name, it could be name resolution issue. Have
you enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP? These search results may help.

WINS or enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, this may be an outdated NetBIOS name

MS provides many options for NetBIOS name resolution such as local
cache ... It is also recommended to enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP for the
computer browsing. ...

Thanks. I had enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP. I tried NBTSTAT -r , nbtstat -R
and ipconfig /registerdns . I can now ping B from A with the computer name,
but still not the other way around. I can still not see B on A's
neighborhood network.
I noticed that under Network Connections the icon for Internet Connection
Gateway appears on B but on A. Is there still something installed from ICS
that's interfering?
Also, if I do nbtstat -A IP address, I get all names coming up on both PC's

1. I don't see NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled from the ipconfig /all.

2. I would remove these two DNS IP addresses 207.164.234.129,
207.164.234.193 from the computers and keep
192.168.0.1 as only DNS server. Please post back with the result.
