Network Printing won't override Local Printer Settings

I have an user that is printing to a network printer. When we add the printer the settings are fine, but after a while some of the setting get changed. Shouldn't the server always push it's setting to the users computer? If so, why wouldn't be for this one workstation? If not, can I setup the printer so that the server settings override the workstations settings?
