How do I create a network password for my machine so
others on the same network can access my folders only if
they use it. I have a windows xp log on password at the
moment, but it doesn't appear when I log on to the
network to prevent others from accessing my folders.
Thanks

If you have Windows XP Home Edition. assign a password to the "Guest"
account. When users on other computers try to access your computer,
they'll be prompted to enter the password:

1. Click Start | Run.
2. Type "control userpasswords2" in the box and click OK.
3. Under "Users for this computer", click Guest.
4. Click Reset Password, enter a password, and click OK.

That also works for Windows XP Professional if "simple file sharing"
is enabled.
