Network Password - STOP THE INSANITY!!

N

Nick

I've been using Outlook for the last couple of weeks
without any problems. However, just this week, I've been
getting an annoying box which keeps popping up asking me
to enter my Network Password. I enter the password, and
even click the box which is suppose to save the password
in my password list. However, a couple of hours later,
the box pops up again. Over and over and over I repeat
the routine.

This wasn't happening before, why now? More importantly,
HOW DO I STOP THE MADNESS??

Change your NT/Network password. Reboot the system. Install latest Service
pack 4, if win2000 (I assume).

Install latest Service pack 4, if win2000 (I assume).

But maybe check the win2000 newsgroup and read about all the problems users
are having with SP4. I had nothing but trouble with it and uninstalled it,
others weren't so 'lucky' and had to reinstall the OS and applying it.

Same problem for me.
Outlook 2003 works well on Windows XP lastest Service Packs for some weeks.
Once I need to change my Password in the Doiman, Outlook is no longer able
to remember my Password.

I'm having the same problem. Running outlook 2002 SP2. I
have 4 different accounts in outlook that check for mail
every 5 minutes. Sometimes it will work for several days
but all of the sudden it pops up the box asking for my
user name and password. My user name and password are
allready filled in and the box labeled Save Password is
also checked. I click on OK without modifying anything
and it's accepted. This happens randomly on each of the
accounts. Very frustrating.

We had the same problem. this is what we did to fix it.

Start, settings, control panel, user accounts, advanced
tab, manage passwords. Delete the exchange server account.
It's a feature that allows you to spend $255 to fix. There
is no KB article on this one. When you change a password
this info does not get updated. I also did a gpupdate to
refresh the users and machine group policy. use the switch
to enforce it.

Hope it works for you.
