Network or Server Problems?

Eric

I map a drive to specific service folder, sometimes when I click on this
drive, it takes 1 minute to show all folders and files within this drive, but
sometimes, it displays immediately. Does anyone have any suggestions whether
it is network or server problems? and how to identify it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Not network problem not a "server" problem. It might be a problem
with the "client" PC. Your "anti-virus" or enhanced firewall software
might be the cause.

I had a simular problem, and am testing two different solutions (make sure
your NIC is not going into powersave mode).
A temporary fix for me was to Ctrl-Alt-Del and Lock computer, then unlock
it.

1 - If you are mapping using the Net use command -
disconnect from the maps
use Explorer to re-establish the maps
stop using the Net use command

2 - If using DHCP, set the IP setting manually

My problem seemed to stem from the network card itself (Broadcom NetXtreme).
Users have not complained since trying these alternatives.
