Scenario:
Go to work and plug into system with laptop. Using
Ethernet card (built in) and have to set the IP address
for works log in.

Go home and have to change IP address back to home IP
address for it to work.

Is there a way that I can create another connection so
when I go to work from home I dont have to keep inputting
different IP address all the time????

If it's XP, you can specify an "Alternate Configuration" under control
panel/network connections/properties of the connection/tcpip
properties/"Alternate Configuration" tab.

You don't say how your home and work networks are set up.
Do they both use dhcp or static addresses or one of each?

Although you cn use the "alternate configuration" tab,
the alternate address has to be static, and this address
will be used if the original connection is set to DHCP,
but no dhcp server can be found. If you set the main
connection to a static IP, the alternate tab will not
appear. That's why I ask about your network setup.

If this isn't an option for you, I have heard of a
product called "Netswitcher". Although I have never seen
or used it, it gets mentioned quite a few times in these
newsgroups. I believe this allows you to hold "profiles"
for various networks and allows you to switch between them
